Climated change multiplied flooding in Venice at the end of the century

A study by a research group at the National Research Council (CSIC) and the University of the Balearic Islands has analyzed the impact of climate change at sea level rise on the Italy of Venice.
Researches Gabriel Jorda, Damia Gomis and Marta Marcos, estimate that at the end of this century the annual frecuency of high water would increase from 1,4 times to 18,5.
In this framework,it is expected that the average level of the Mediterranian increased about 50 centimeters at the end of the century.
The study has projected the effects of this increased in the sea level in Venice, as the lowest part of the city is only 90 feed above sea level and it is located in an area where the tides are quite important.

The future scenaries indicate that the frecuency of flood events in Venice will increase dramatically by the end  of the century by the consequences of climate change on the Mediterranean.
