The Light of Knowledge: How much energy do your lightbulbs use?

2009 Marks the start of an even greener, more energy efficient future. The current EU plans provide for the gradual withdrawal of classic incandescent lamps from the European market from September 2009.
Ignorance of energy saving lighting solutions might be the biggest threat to a more sustainable environment. The highest potential contribution to energy saving and reduced CO2 emissions can be achieved by just switching your incandescent light bulbs to energy savers.

  3. This article is very useful because of the pictures you've put. I'll show these pictures to my family and I'll explain them that they should replace their normal bulbs with efficient bulbs if they haven't done yet.

  4. Good contribution Seba, this is a good proof to convince people to change their bulbs. One day my aunt said to me: "look, I've bought this new bulb, the shop assistant told me that this bulbs consume less electricity" False, the bulb was an F class. I realised that people are bad informed about how to reduce the energy consumption.

  6. Nowadays, low consumption bulbs should be compulsory for all developed countries. They are a good stuff to combat climate change, and if we use them, we will pay less in the electricity bill.
